Learning Outcomes and Application This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies, procedures and program. Work, Health and Safety is concerned with protecting the wellbeing of all power generation facility stakeholders. It involves the application of WHS/OHS legislation and codes of practice including duty of care obligations, implementing WHS/OHS procedures in hazard identification and risk control measures, engaging staff in safe working practices and maintaining a robust health and safety regime in the workplace.Competency in this unit requires the ability to provide WHS/OHS information, implement and monitor management of WHS/OHS,monitor hazards and assess risks,implement and monitor procedures for controlling risks,implement and monitor WHS/OHS trainingand monitor WHS/OHS records. Individuals will, in general, work as an operator with responsibility for WHS/OHS, in a power generation facility.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.Note: Workplace practiceThe application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence or training permit to practice in the workplace where work is carried out on gas and electrical installations. Additional conditions may apply under state and territory legislative and regulatory licensing requirements.

  • Provisions of Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and codes of practice are explained to personnel, in accordance with workplace procedures
